Seahorses

Seahorses are amazing. They’re almost like magical creatures. They’re like little chameleon horse-faced fish dragon opossums. I fancy them… mostly because male seahorses are the ones that get pregnant…

A Lovely Gift

This weekend I had two spectacular shows. Friday night I played a solo show in La Jolla that was packed out… Saturday I played a show with The Eskimo Friends in Escondido that was packed as well. Nice little ego boost :) Anyway, Saturday night I received a present from a guy named Taylor who came to see us.

The Fray Sing “Still”

Filed under: Dreams — gayle at 12:11 am on Sunday, July 8, 2007

I had another crazy dream: I turned on the radio to find that The Fray had stolen my song “Still” and were playing it on 91x.  I freaked out and couldn’t figure out how they had done it or why!  They had changed the beat a bit to make it more poppy and upbeat…

Anyway, I woke up for band practice and I just couldn’t shake the icky feeling I had from the dream…especially when we practiced “Still.”  Yikes.

Love, love, love…?

Fiona Does House Concerts?

Filed under: Dreams — gayle at 9:43 pm on Monday, July 2, 2007

I have been known to have some insanely random, very vivid dreams. Last night I dreamt that I lived in a huge house on a hill downtown. Apparently I didn’t own the house, because someone else had set up a Fiona Apple concert in the house. She didn’t bring her band, just her pianist. The whole room was candlelit, and I sat in the back on a table to watch. (? it made sense in my dream, okay!) About half way through the show, Fiona came to sit with me on the table and we sang together and harmonized. I guess now we’re besties.
